Hershey Track Meet

2008 Date: Saturday, April 26 (rain or shine) at Council Bluffs Stadium

  • The Hershey Track Meet is a FREE program for youth ages 9-14. 2008 marks its 31st anniversary!

  • All Pottawattamie County residents are eligible to participate.

  • Children must compete in their age group only. (Mixed age group relays cannot advance to the State Meet).

  • First place finishers in each event advance to the State Meet in Marshalltown, IA, on Saturday, June 14.

The local Hershey Track and Field Meet is a free event for 9-14 year olds in Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County.

Over the past 30+ years, the Hershey Youth Program has involved millions of youth from all over the United States and Canada.

The Program is sponsored by the National Recreation and Park Association, the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, and Athletics Canada, as well as Hershey Foods Corporation.

Divisions will include boys and girls 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 year olds, based on the participant's age as of December 31 of the current year.

A copy of the participant's birth certificate is required with registration.

Children can compete in a maximum of ONE TRACK and TWO FIELD or TWO TRACK and ONE FIELD event.

All relay participants must be of the same gender and age group.

9-10 year-old events:

  • TRACK - 50 meter dash

  • TRACK - 100 meter dash

  • TRACK - 200 meter dash

  • TRACK - 400 meter dash

  • TRACK - 4x100 meter relay

  • FIELD - Standing Long Jump

  • FIELD - Softball Throw

11-12 year-old events:

  • TRACK - 100 meter dash

  • TRACK - 200 meter dash

  • TRACK - 400 meter dash

  • TRACK - 800 meter run

  • TRACK - 4x100 meter relay

  • FIELD - Standing Long Jump

  • FIELD - Softball Throw

13-14 year-old events:

  • TRACK - 100 meter dash

  • TRACK - 200 meter dash

  • TRACK - 800 meter run

  • TRACK - 1600 meter run

  • TRACK - 4x100 meter relay

  • FIELD - Standing Long Jump

  • FIELD - Softball Throw
