Historical SitesHistoric General Dodge HouseThis lavish 14-room Victorian mansion is historically authentic, complete with a majority of the original furnishings. Built in 1869, it was the home of the noted Civil War General and railroad builder Grenville M. Dodge. Dodge is credited with convincing Abraham Lincoln to bring the first intercontinental railroad through Council Bluffs, essentially putting the city on the map. The house, along with the neighboring Beresheim House, is open February - December for tours. Call 322-2406 for times and admission fees.
