Council Bluffs is home to two beautiful outdoor aquatic centers. Katelman Water Park and Pirate Cove Water Park are open seasonally to the public.

Water Park Information

Recreation Swimming - begins May 24, 2008

• Pirate Cove Water Park and Katelman Water Park are heated!

• Mondays, 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

• Tuesdays - Thursdays, 12:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m.

• Fridays - Sundays, 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Rentals

• Available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:15 - 8:15 p.m.

• Reservations will not be accepted until pools officially open. Reservations must be made through the pools, not the Parks and Recreation office.

Family Nights

• Mondays, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

• Katelman: June 19, July 15

• Pirate Cove: June 10, July 8, August 5

Swimming Pool Policies:

Swim Passes are for the use of the purchaser only. Verification of family members for season passes may be required. Season passes are for recreational swimming at the two municipal outdoor pools only. Pools usually close August 20th - 25th, depending on available staff. All children seven (7) years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult during recreation swimming. No season pass or punch card refunds or partial refunds.

Red Cross Lifeguarding Class --- 2008 Dates TBA

Pre-requisite: MUST be able to swim 300 yards, swim 25 yards with a 10-pound brick, and retrieve a 10-pound brick from the deep end (the brick events are timed). Certification includes First Aid and CPR (these portions will take place before the water portion).
